Still in pursuit of the elusive truth, just as the price of freedom is eternal vigilance...
The price of Truth is constantly reevulating those truths that we assumed to be self evident
I was on a peak oil site earlier today and wandered into a thread about global warming. Not surprised, most of the discussion revolved around ACCEPTED TRUTH that the current warming trend is caused by human's activities much as the THEORY OF EVOLUTION is touted as a truth. Instead of discussing the theory and using a wide array of current research to pursue the truth, most have now decided, either way, that global warming (AGW = Anthropogenic Global Warming) is either 100% a hoax by "eco-fascists" or 100% caused by the evil earth virus - humananity (and denied by baby killing seal kicking republican corporate thugs).
It all started when someone posted information about James Hanson being chided by others within NASA for his assertions. What followed was personal attacks, false information, and blindness. This seems the typical tone of our world whether it be in personal discussions, the mainstream media, or even at the highest levels of government. Can't we be both "pro-environment" and yet questioning of the truth?
OR HAVE ALL OF US DISSOLVED TO THIS BUSH "YOUR EITHER WITH US OR AGAINST US" MENTALITY?
What happens when you look at the data, all of it. Not just data for the last 50 years. What can it tell us about this great planet we all call home? Or are we so Anthropocentric that have decided that in the year 2010, we have defined the universe? Here I stand still the same ecologically minded responsible human being asking you to question what was spoonfed to you by a guy that has a bigger carbon footprint than 10 of my comrades combined and form you own opinion about what is going on:
Don't believe me. Go look and read. Challenge your assumptions. Form you own opinion and then double check it every so often. It'll hurt but you'll be the better for it.
And thanks to the climate-skeptic.com for continually pursuing an answer for which way the wind is really blowing:
