RNC Convention Election Sham

E-mail Print PDF

You know all those primaries we spent the past year working through? Where millions of people come out to elect who the Republican party would nominate for the presidential race? Well, when you're the establishment and you're not winning, just change the rules. Make it so you can nominate anyone you choose and be sure it is always an insider

The RNC is a sham. Liars, thieves, and statists.

Gay rights, Gun rights, or both?

Blake Zeff completely misses the mark when he asks what the gun control movement can learn from the gay rights movement.

In other words, he asks:

What can a group seeking to eliminate rights learn from a group seeking to gain rights.

But like most neoliberals, he falsely links (in his mind) the two "movements" since he sees them both as [neo]liberal causes. Sure most phony progressives want gay rights and no gun rights, but a logical look at the dynamics of these two interest groups shows that they should be opposing not congruent. Any true libertarian would see that this is a personal liberty question. What you do is your own business, so long as you don't infringe on another's rights.

Several replies to the article make excellent points on why the gay and gun rights camps should be in accord with each other:

What the gun control movement can learn from gay rights.

and if you haven't heard of them, I present Pink Pistols (a gay gun rights group) who's motto is "Armed Gays don't get Bashed".

Quote of the Day

People should “assume the possibility of a breakdown of the civilized infrastructure.”

“Your safe haven must be self-sufficient and capable of growing some kind of food, it should be well-stocked with seed, fertilizer, canned food, wine, medicine, clothes, etc. Think Swiss Family Robinson. Even in America and Europe there could be moments of riot and rebellion when law and order temporarily completely breaks down.”

~ Barton M. Biggs, the former chief global strategist at Morgan Stanley
